Bangor Maine Event Photographer | Habitat for Humanity Groundbreaking

Last week I had the opportunity to photograph Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bangor’s latest groundbreaking.  I’ve volunteered for Habitat for Humanity in the past– a few years ago I helped to paint their store in Holden (now in Bangor), and I traveled to Beaumont, Texas to help build two sheds for two houses.  It was an amazing experience (who ever knew I could actually handle a saw with such grace? such poise? hah!), so I was glad to work with them again to capture the beginning of their next house.  The partner family, the Hookers, were so kind, and their kids (as you’ll see below) were adorable.  One of them wants to be a firefighter someday, or maybe a pirate.  Both, I told him, are great choices.

If you’re in the Bangor area you should consider volunteering with Habitat for Humanity– you don’t need to have any construction or building skills to be able to help out (believe me, I didn’t even know how to handle a hammer properly before heading off to Beaumont)!  Check out the link above for more details.

The photos below are some of my favorites from the groundbreaking.
