Kelsey and Charlie’s Blue Hill Maine Engagement Portraits

I’m incredibly fond of Blue Hill (and am lucky enough to book at least one wedding a year there), and this year I’m ever so lucky to return for Kelsey and Charlie’s wedding. Kelsey has summered in Blue Hill her entire life, and once they became serious she brought Charlie up to Maine so that he could experience her favorite place. It’s impossible not to love Blue Hill- it’s quiet, has such a wonderful, close knit community, and the rocky coastline is quaint and quintessentially Maine. Eventually, Charlie proposed at the Bathing Beach (Kelsey’s favorite spot in Blue Hill) while swimming. At night. Still my heart!  (By the way, does anyone else have R.E.M.’s “Nightswimming” playing in their head?)

We met a few weeks ago (right before COVID-19 became a major concern across the country) in Blue Hill, and explored Kelsey’s mom’s property, the point next door, and the Bathing Beach. We practiced appropriate social distancing (although I wanted to hug them!), discussed our Harry Potter houses, and I marveled at how naturally and easily Kelsey and Charlie fell into each other’s arms, which was, of course, such a joy to photograph.

Here’s a few of my favorite photos from our time together. Enjoy!
