Lizzie and PJ’s Blue Hill Maine Wedding

On a stunning day in September, Lizzie and PJ had a beautiful backyard ceremony in Blue Hill, Maine, joined by their favorite friends and family, and then paraded down the road to their reception on Holbrook Hill, which was in a field overlooking the ocean (PS- if it looks familiar, I photographed a wedding here a few years ago!). It was a wonderfully relaxed affair- guests wandered the field, with tasty appetizers and beverages in hand, enjoying the ocean view and incredible sunset, and many utilized the "Boat-o-booth," perhaps the most clever DIY photo booth I've seen, featuring a dinghy and nautical props. There was even a recording booth for guests to leave well-wishes and share stories about Lizzie and PJ- as Lizzie is the podcast host of Sidedoor, and PJ is in a band (Vim & Vigor), it only made sense that they make an audio record of their wedding day. While they had The Soul Benders performing at their wedding, Vim & Vigor played a set, much to my delight. It was especially cool as PJ's parents had yet to see his band perform, so it was great to see their happy reactions.

Three (yes, THREE!) songs written for/about Lizzie were performed on Lizzie and PJs wedding day. Two were surprises- one was written by her brother at their ceremony, and one was by PJ, who surprised her with a new song at the end of his band's set. After PJ finished, Lizzie RAN to PJ and embraced him as friends and family clapped and cheered (as seen in the first photo of this blog post). It was incredibly romantic!

Gwen of Fiddleheads and Finery produced a beautiful event, and I was happy as always to enjoy in Bar Harbor Catering Company's delicious eats.
