Lily, Vivek and I met up on a particularly cloudy day that was absolutely perfect day for a coastal session in Moose Point State Park in Searsport, Maine and ended in downtown Belfast. The clouds looked a bit menacing, but they provided for a bit of coastal charm that I'm a huge fan of. Many of my clients hope for sun, but let me tell you-- when shooting on the coast, it's actually, in my opinion, ideal to have cloud cover that will allow us to photograph wherever we please without fear of awkward shadows and blown out skies. We even had a bit of sun peek out from time to time, and I definitely wished that I could bottle up the weather (save for the rather chilly temperature) and be able to use it on command.
Lily and Vivek are both lawyers and I immediately connected with Lily the first time I talked to her, whose undergraduate degree was in English (so was mine) and has always dreamed of writing a young adult novel (same here)! And Vivek, a high school teacher turned lawyer, was just as amiable and charming. Both were incredibly sweet, so much fun to spend the afternoon with, and I'm thrilled that their wedding is this weekend because I wouldn't want to wait any longer to see them again!
