Jess & Chris’ Beachmere Inn Wedding in Ogunquit, Maine

Maine's official slogan, "the way life should be," felt particularly salient on Jess and Chris' wedding day- the weather was lovely, not too hot, not too cool, and there were incredibly scenic ocean views to boot from where we were at Beachmere Inn, a property perfectly placed on the Marginal Way in Ogunquit. And on this perfect Maine day, Jess and Chris said I do to each other in front of their favorite friends and family.

I arrived to the Beachmere Inn to find Jess, wrapped in a robe, writing her vows on her laptop. From there, as she transitioned to having her hair styled by a dear family friend, she started to write them down (on El's Cards stationary, no less!) reading them over and over until they felt just right. And, after Chris had spent some time relaxing and reading, he prepared for the wedding with his father. After a lovely, tearjerker of a ceremony, everyone enjoyed an al fresco cocktail hour, and after a delicious dinner, the DJ (The Music Man) started an epic mix of late 90s and 2000s bops that reminded me of how GOOD pop music was back then. Guests stepped away from dancing from time to time to enjoy s'mores and to take in the sunset, which was a wonderful ending to what an ideal Maine day should be.
