Jesse & Rob’s Barn at Flanagan Farm Wedding

Jesse and Rob's wedding, which took place at the Barn at Flanagan Farm in Buxton, Maine, was the definition of chill. When I showed up, Jesse and her friends were sitting around a table, all wearing tie-dye sweatshits and listening to Tom Petty, while Jesse had her makeup done, and good vibes were all around. Once Jesse finished preparing and got dressed (make sure you check out her boots below- Rob drew all over the soles!), they met up for an entirely candid first look, in which no portraits were taken- the two simply took 10-15 minutes to say hi, check each other out, and soak in the fact that they would be getting married in about an hour. It was such a great moment.

The ceremony was next, and I appreciated how intimate it felt, likely because it was officiated by Jesse's brother, and music played by a friend of Rob's. After portraits in the woods (while many of the leaves had blown off the trees, the blanket of red and orange leaves made for a beautiful fall landscape), Rob and Jesse walked to their outdoor cocktail hour, where friends and family mingled, ate delicious food by Fire & Co., and played cornhole.

Jesse and Rob's reception was just as relaxed as the rest of their day- it began with an outdoor first dance, then dinner in the barn, a toast by Jesse's dad, Jack, whose quirky sense of humor permeated the wedding (he may have snuck up behind a few family portrait groupings with a big grin on his face), and then everyone headed outside into the uncharacteristically warm fall night. Wellfleet set the scene with classics and chill music, a few guests danced under the stars, and some friends and family chatted around a roaring fire. Such a good event, no doubt in part to Purple Orchid's expert planning.
