Katheryn and Derrek booked me sight unseen, but we had the opportunity to share a couple of beers during early summer while the pair finalized their wedding plans. I had already been excited to photograph their coastal Maine wedding at the Bar Harbor Club on Mount Desert Island, but after our meeting I was stoked that I would get to see them again in a few short months and get to know their family and friends. Not surprisingly, their day went off without a hitch- from the perfect florals, by Fleurishes (oh, they were spectacular!), to the delightfully warm weather, and the golden light that shone on Katheryn and Derrek during their ceremony at the club and portraits on the shore path in Bar Harbor (it pays to have your ceremony and portraits during the last few hours of sunlight!)... their day was one that their family and friends are likely to not forget. And we can't forget the emotional toasts shared by the best man and maid of honor that inspired tears and laughter- they were the definitive exclamation mark on their well-crafted day of love.
