When Mariah and Noah met me at the Hulls Cove Visitor Center so that we could carpool through the park, Mariah and Noah were a bit rattled. Their morning hadn't been the smoothest, which is pretty common on a wedding day. However, everything came together once their ceremony began, the breeze whipping the water around the cliffs in an ever-dramatic way (some of the best spray I've seen in the park!), and finally, among laughter, tears, and personally written vows, Mariah and Noah were married.
I had been so excited for Mariah and Noah's elopement because they were down for hiking up a mountain for sunset portraits. There's a few mountains with shorter hike times in Acadia National Park and beautiful views, so we selected one of them, and we made our way up. A lot of couples ask if it's doable, hiking up a mountain and wedding gear, and yes, it is! You'll need to wear somewhat sturdy shoes, no heels, but if we pace ourselves we'll reach locations that few venture to on their wedding day.
Mariah and Noah popped a bottle of champagne on the top of the mountain, then soaked up the INCREDIBLE sunset that was delivered to us. There were a few people on the top of the mountain, but it still felt as if we had it completely to ourselves (a benefit to hiking up a mountain during your elopement!)
