Molly & Levi’s Foggy Acadia Wedding

When Molly and Levi inquired with me and shared their vision for their wedding day, a day of hiking and celebrating with their loved ones, I was so excited. While there are many easily accessible spots in Acadia, it’s thrilling to go out of your way to spots less traveled in the park. While it may take a little effort to access them, you know you’ll have unique wedding photos!

When I arrived to the mountain parking lot, it was pouring, which was a little bit nerve-wracking. Luckily, the rain petered out to occasional drizzles by the time we began coverage, but in worst case scenario we had umbrellas at hand. While I felt sad that Levi and Molly didn’t have a sunny and clear day, I was hopeful they’d be given unique skies (as I always tell my couples, unusual/bad weather days usually result in stunning light and skies!), and lo and behold, we had fog that made everything feel a bit magical.

Levi and Molly had trekked in a van across the US and done lots of hiking last summer, so the pair sped right up the mountain with incredible ease, each carrying their wedding outfits. On the way up, we chatted about the latest season of Survivor, among other things, and before we knew it we had arrived to the incredibly foggy peak. The pair got dressed back to back and shared a sweet first look. While we didn’t have the scenic views I’m sure they were hoping for, the fog photographed ever so nicely.

Molly and Levi opted to hike down in their dress and suit, which resulted in lots of kind congratulations and general excitement from passing hikers. Once we made it back to the parking lot, where their loved ones were waiting, we moved to the ceremony site, on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. And boy, what a ceremony it was! The emotion was palpable- Molly and Levi cried, sharing their hearts during their vows, and several loved ones teared up. It was magical to behold.

After a few final portraits on the cliffs, we drove to Franklin, Maine, where everyone gathered to eat a delicious vegan meal by S + P Catering at a rental house. Toasts were shared, the cake was cut, and everyone was in great spirits. It was the perfect wedding to end my 2021 season with.

Here are a few of my favorites from Molly and Levi’s wedding. Enjoy!
