Award Winning Maine Documentary Wedding Photographer

When I'm asked to describe my photography style, I tend to use the terms "wedding photojournalist, or creative documentary wedding photographer. In short, I'm interested first and foremost in capturing moments well- whether they be small, like a bride wiping makeup off of her groom's face, or more epic, like a couple karate chopping their cake (still my beating heart!), I'm doing everything in my power to create rad photos of the photos that make your wedding unique. That's why I love the Wedding Photojournalist Association, or WPJA, for short- they support wedding photographers around the world with similar goals. Every year they host a friendly competition, judged by renowned photojournalists, and I'm thrilled to share that I placed in the top 50 worldwide for their 2019 competition. What an honor! The depth of the talent in the competition pool is immense, and I'm thrilled to be a part of such a high-quality group of photographers.

Here's the photos that were awarded this year. Photos with a yellow medallion were selected by four out of four judges, photos with a blue medallion were selected by three out of four judges, purple by two out of four, and green by one. Enjoy!
