Teresa reached out to me in the spring, wondering if I could capture anniversary portraits of her and her husband Sean during their vacation in Harrington, Maine. Her inquiry stood out because she was hoping the first half of her session could be captured in a documentary style- in other words, they didn’t want to be posed, but photographed candidly as they spent time together. I was admittedly a little nervous about this request, as I had never photographed a portrait session in this way before, but I was up for the challenge. When I arrived, I was greeted by their two adorable pups, Ruby and Zephyr, who were definitely ready to play. After pouring and consuming a little “liquid courage,” Sean and Teresa wandered around the property, playing with their pups and enjoying the wonderful backyard on their property (one of my favorite backdrops I’ve seen this year for portraits, for sure!). After awhile, we began the second part of their session. The pair were wed six years ago and never had a professional wedding photographer at their wedding, so we made up for lost time by creating some portraits of the two of them in their wedding outfits, which made for some epic images that I hope will help them remember how wonderful their wedding was and how much they mean to each other.
