Bar Harbor Inn Wedding | Crystal & Brent

Crystal and Brent live in Ohio, but love Maine, so they, with their pup Haley, jumped into their car and made the two day drive to the incredibly scenic Bar Harbor, Maine for their wedding in the Porcupine Room at the Bar Harbor Inn.  They were joined by 30 or so family and friends, most of whom also made a trek to experience the magic of the Maine coast.  Maine didn’t disappoint on their wedding day– Mount Desert Island was showing off with its blue skies with perfect puffy clouds, and really pulled out all the stops with one of the best sunsets I’ve seen this summer.   I’ll share a little more as the blog progresses– this first image was taken on Cadillac Mountain.  That view is stunning, right?

Crystal got ready at the Balance Rock Inn with her family and bridesmaids, which was quaint and right in downtown Bar Harbor.

We took a quick bridal portrait on the staircase.  The window provided some dramatic light that suited Crystal’s incredibly dramatic (and heavy!) dress.

Crystal arrived to the Holy Redeemer in a horse drawn carriage.  I rode in it for a little while to take some photos, and it was a lot of fun.  JL Gray Draft Horses did an excellent job helping Crystal make an unforgettable entrance!

Josh Swan of Media Northeast isn’t pictured in any of these photos (we like to stay out of each other’s photos and video!) but he was hired as a videographer for Crystal and Brent’s wedding and, as always, was a pleasure to work with.  He’s one of my very favorite wedding videographers to work with– kind, unobtrusive, and a great team player!

After their ceremony, friends and family gathered around to provide Crystal and Brent with a bubble exit.

We took a few portraits in Bar Harbor, and then spent some time in Acadia finding scenic spots for portraits.  Keep in mind that should you want portraits in Acadia that it takes a long time to do the full loop.  It’s definitely worth doing portraits in the park, but make sure to set aside enough time to make the most out of your scenic portraits!

This red rocky coastline is so pretty, isn’t it?

Cottage Flowers did a lovely job with Crystal’s bouquets and centerpieces.

And back to the inn we went for Crystal and Brent’s reception!

At sunset, Crystal, Brent, and the wedding party joined me outside for a few more portraits near the water.  The skies were incredible and the lighting divine.  You can’t go wrong with setting aside a few minutes at sunset for a few extra photos, and you’ll get the added bonus of a little quiet time away from your family and friends to really soak in the fact that you’ve just gotten married!

The Margaret Todd was just coming in as we finished up portraits– thanks for providing such a great backdrop! ;)
