Instagram Friday | Anniversary

Hello, my lovely readers!  If you’re from Maine, you’ve been most likely depressed by this week’s grey skies, thunderstorms, and humidity we’ve been slugging through.  My session this week was cancelled, so the week has felt a little long, but I’m excited for this weekend’s wedding, for which I am currently doing my anti-rain dance to ward off the thunderstorms!

Shall I share with you some of the photos I’ve taken with my cell phone this week?  By the way– are you following me on Instagram?  I don’t post all of my Instagram photos to Facebook or to my website, so follow me if you want to see more random snapshots from my life!

The first two photos were taken at a BBQ where more than 20 Maine photographers to meet up, talk about their wedding seasons, and eat lots of delicious grilled food.  I wish I had a photo to share with you of everyone there, but I forgot to take one (I was having too much of a good time– I try not to take too many photos when I’m spending time with people!)

I love Sunset Rock, a gorgeous spot across from the Lucerne Inn that offers gorgeous views for sunsets.  I go up a few times a month in the summer to just relax.

The photojournalist in me saw my husband waiting in the doorway and I had to immediately snap a photo.

I’ve been lusting after the Canon 85 1.2 L, and finally purchased it.  I’ve only taken a few test photos with it, but I’m already in love.

Below is my old Pentax camera, which I’ve taken out of storage, loaded with very expired film, and have begun to play around with it.  I’ll share results here if anything comes of it, but for now it’s simply a means for experimentation (and an outlet for me to play!)

A pretty rose (I think it’s a rose?) that I came across during some walk.

So yesterday was my 3rd wedding anniversary (perhaps I’ll write more about it in another blog post), and we decided to spend the day in Bar Harbor.  We drove up Mt. Cadillac, which was incredibly cloudy, unfortunately.  Isn’t that crazy?

We also spent some time on the Bar Harbor Pier, which provided a slightly better and moodier view.

And then, after a delicious dinner at Havana, I attempted to take a self portrait of the both of us, which was more difficult than I anticipated, but yet here we are, three years married and together for almost seven.  That’s pretty darn awesome.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!  I’ll be back with more photos next week.
