It may have been a bit of a dreary, rainy day when Sheri and Mike eloped at the Inn at Sunrise Point in Camden, Maine, but their, along with their parents' happiness and love, made the day feel lighter. Sheri and Mike lived in the same neighborhood in California growing up (Sheri was known as a stunner amongst Mike and his friends), but they didn't officially connect and start a relationship until later in their lives. And as they stood with the ocean as their backdrop as they shared vows and cried really amazing happy tears, I felt how powerful their love story was and felt honored to be one of the few people to witness their commitment to one another. After the ceremony, the pair blotted each others tears and embraced as their parents signed the marriage license- easily one of my favorite moments from their wedding day.
The trees and leaves were especially green after the rain, and the water was the perfect shade of grey blue, so while everything was a bit damp, the light and the colors were perfection, and so were Sheri and Mike, who simply radiated joy. I was sad to leave them that afternoon, but was excited that they had a reservation at Primo for dinner- one of my very favorite restaurants in the state of Maine.
