Boothbay Harbor Maine Wedding | Kate & Matt

Two weeks ago I was treated to a wonderful wedding that was a joy to capture.  Kate and Matt tied the knot on a beautiful, softly lit day at family residences in Boothbay Harbor.  Some of my favorite weddings have happened at private residences (there’s something about them that feel so personal!) and Kate and Matt’s family and friends made me feel right at home and even urged me to stop photographing and start dancing at the end of the night (and also helped me find my keys that I dropped in the dark, but that’s another story :)).  There’s more to say, of course, but let’s get on with the photos!

We started our day at Salon Capella, where the ladies had their hair done.

We then returned to the site of the wedding so Kate and her bridesmaids could get ready.

Love Kate’s mom’s reaction here!

And Kate’s dad’s reaction to her also didn’t disappoint!

Meanwhile, Matt and his groomsmen got ready at another private residence while Tammie captured it all.

Love this moment between Matt and Matt’s son, Sully!

When they were dressed, the men boated off for a cruise before arriving to the ceremony… in style.

After taking a few bridal portraits, the ladies boarded an antique boat and went on their own cruise around the harbor before the ceremony.

Once the wedding parties had arrived in style, the ceremony began.  What a view everyone was afforded!

Once these two were named Mr. and Mrs. Rice, we took the time to take some portraits.

This bouquet (and all the other florals, which you’ll see below) by Boothbay Region Greenhouse was stunning and full of garden roses (one of my favorite flowers!)

After portraits, we headed across the street for the reception, where it was beautifully decorated with hydrangeas.

I’m a huge fan of succulents on cakes– great job, European Bakery!

The first dances and speeches were full of emotion, as you’ll see below!

After the events, I asked Sully if I could take a few portraits of him, and he was happy to oblige.  You look good in a suit, Sully!

The School Street Band started up the festivities with lots of rock, and they got all of Kate and Matt’s guests up and moving with gusto!

A small break was taken to light wish lanterns.  There was some trial and error involved, but once everyone figured out how to do it, several lanterns were sent into the sky (and several wishes made!)

The break from the dance floor didn’t stop people from getting back on and continuing the revelries!

Kate and Matt (and Sully too!), your wedding day was such a special one and I was so happy to be a part of it.  Thanks for including me!
