I dislike winter quite a bit, and Maine's long and seemingly never-ending winter is quite difficult to bear, so I'm always a bit giddy when spring rolls around. After such a monochromatic season, there's nothing like lush greens, pinks, and other poppy spring colors to invigorate the spirit (and the eyes!) Despite being in busy season, I couldn't not photograph while the trees were in bloom, so I asked Emily, a favorite model of mine, to work with me in the University of Maine's Ornamental Garden. It was a bit of a grey day, but Emily made everything look vibrant.
